Overview
Before the Holocaust- Up until 1933, with the end of World War I and the German economy declining
-With World War I over, and the treaty of Versailles signed, most countries did NOT want to go to war again. Germany was not the only country to suffer a lot. Most of Britain was ravaged as well, and the all the countries had lost many civillans and soliders. But in Germany, with the treaty, it made Germany give up billions of money to the winning countries. The economy of Germany went under, with its government becoming very unpopular.
-As well as before the Holocaust, anti-Semitism was very spread throughout Europe.

Nazi Germany 1933-1941
With Germany desperate, they choose Hitler to lead them (big mistake). He spread his ideaology of his master "Aryan" race and his hatred of Jews. Nobody wanted to go to war. But as Hitler began building up his army and building tanks, the other countries grew nervous.
The Final Solution- The Mass Murder
-The Final Solution was thought to have come up around 1942. It was the plan for the extermination of Jews. Through many brutal and horrifiying ways, the Nazis and SS soldiers murdered, shot, and poisoned millions of Jews, most without any pang of conscience.
Jewish Resistance
These were a group of few but did great for what they had, but a group who physiologically tested the Nazi party with what acts they did.
The rescuers- When all Hope was lost
Aftermath- An unforgettable Legacy
It has been 71 years since the Holocaust ended, but we still remember it. We learn about it, not only to honor those who died, but also to make sure it doesn't happen again. There have still been genocides between now and then. No matter how hard we try, there will always be people who find their own race "superior" and another "inferior".
^Look over the PowerPoint before doing the timeline activity. This is just to give you some basic information regarding World War II, the highlights and important events.

Questions after looking through everything:
- What is so important about the quote from Harry S. Truman?
- World War II started when the Nazis invaded where?
- Who won the battle of Normandy Landings?
-Who became president shortly after the Great Depression?
-Does the number of deaths surprise you? How does it compare to World War I deaths of about seventeen-eighteen million people? Would you be even more shocked that some people consider it higher, some up to 80 million?
-Now explain what the title of the web quest means.
-Name the two political parties fighting for control in Germany before World War II and identify which one ended up taking all control.
-What was World War I called, and why was it ironic?
